About the Role

Royal Flying Doctor Service - Queensland Section (RFDS Qld) now has a fast-paced opportunity for an experienced HR Specialist/Recruitment Lead to join our team. This role is based at 5-7 Lobelia Circle, Brisbane International Airport, and is being offered on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR Professional to make a genuine difference in a highly regarded community services organisation. A large portion of your time will be spent driving and coordinating quality recruitment activities and procedures, ensuring we source the right candidates. You will also act as a HR 'generalist', working collaboratively with the rest of the HR team and broader business to identify opportunities for process improvements and respond to HR related enquiries as needed.

Some of your day-to-day duties will include, but not be limited to:

  • Coordinating the full end-to-end recruitment process for the business including providing strategic insights on recruitment and retention activity;
  • Shortlisting and screening candidates, managing logistics of assessment/interview process etc & conducting interviews in consultation with hiring managers;
  • Creation/management of contract documentation including letters for new starters and variations to appointments;
  • Identifying and implementing opportunities for process improvement at each step of the talent acquisition process;
  • Completing and maintaining recruitment reporting in support of other HR initiatives such as diversity, inclusion and belonging;
  • Further building and leveraging the RFDS online presence (eg – our careers site, LinkedIn and social media advertising channels); and
  • Other HR tasks, projects and administration as required.

Who are we looking for?

This is a diverse, high-paced role in which every day will present new opportunities and challenges. Successful candidates will have demonstrated experience in a recruitment focused role, with excellent time management and administration skills, enabling you to effectively coordinate large scale recruitment activity.

You will also need to demonstrate a well-rounded knowledge of generalist HR practices, including contract management, ideally with a focus on enterprise agreement and award interpretation.

Tertiary qualification in human resources or similar will be highly regarded, but not essential; and any experience using ConnX or other HR and recruitment platforms will be a plus. 

You will have strong interpersonal, negotiation, consultation and communication skills appropriate to all stakeholders.

Importantly, we are looking for someone who is passionate about recruitment; is motivated to learn and understand all aspects of the RFDS business; and who has the ability to use this knowledge to provide strategic and considered insights that will help guide the organisation's retention and engagement strategies.
