We are seeking a Bequest Officer within the Fundraising team, based at the Brisbane Corporate Office. In this hands on role, working within a close-knit team, you’ll help us make a real difference to people’s lives and to the future of our organisation.
The Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia (RFDS) is one of the largest and most comprehensive aeromedical organisations in the world. Using the latest in aviation, medical and communications technology, we deliver extensive primary healthcare and 24-hour emergency service, from nine strategic bases, to those who live, work and travel throughout Queensland.
About the role:
Reporting to the Grants and Major Gifts Manager, the Bequest Officer is responsible for the coordination of a well-established Bequest Program with untapped potential for the Royal Flying Doctor Service (Queensland Section). This is a unique opportunity for an energetic, proactive and highly organised team player to further develop our bequest program, including awareness building activities, prospecting/visitation initiatives and estate administration duties that will maximise current and future revenue support for the organisation.

Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an energetic professional fundraiser who has at least 3-5 years’ experience in a bequest role and/or a relevant/similar fundraising position. Your ability to establish and build quick rapport with stakeholders is essential in conjunction with your strong relationship building and communication skills. Further to this, you will have excellent organisation skills and a compassionate, caring nature with high professional and personal ethics and integrity. Your strong organisational skills and strategic thinking, combined with your high level of computer literacy will enable you to take a pivotal role in growing the program to support the long term goals of the organisation.
